Sea ferries

In Ostend, you can make free use of the ferryboats or also called ferries.

The free ferry service connects the centre at Visserskaai, close to the North Sea Aquarium, with the Oosteroever at Maritime Square. Four ferries, including the Roger Raveel, The Red Square on the Sea, The New Vision, and the electric 'Raveel meets Ensor', serve this route. Capacity varies: the standard ferry can carry 50 people with up to 20 bikes, while 'Raveel meets Ensor' can carry up to 100 passengers and 40 bikes. All boats are wheelchair-friendly, and disembarkation after each crossing is required.

Capacity adjustments are possible under special circumstances.
