In cooperation with Optimal Parking Control, the municipality of Knokke-Heist is working on a parking policy that aims for less parking pressure, more parking space, less search traffic and better traffic flow. Below is a complete overview of the parking rules, zones, rates and charging options in Knokke-Heist.

Paying parking in Knokke-Heist

If you cannot park for free in Knokke-Heist, you will usually end up in a pay parking or pay zone. The rates in the various parking zones can vary greatly and sometimes even become more expensive the longer you park for an hour. So pay close attention to which rates apply in the zone where you want to park in Knokke.

Important information about paid parking in Knokke-Heist

• Tickets from the orange zone are also valid in the green zone.
• Tickets from the red or green zones are not valid in other zones.
• Only tickets from the green zone are transferable to the next day.

Not paid or parked longer than you paid for?

• In the green zone: fee of €40 per day.
• In the red and orange zone: €40 per half-day (11h-15h and 15h-19h).
• You will receive a payment invitation under the windscreen wiper or through your letterbox.
• Payment within 15 days. Retribution is not transferable.

How to park correctly with a parking disc?

• Use a parking disc in the blue zone (traffic sign E9a).
• Set the arrival time to the next dash.
• Place the parking disc clearly visible behind your windscreen.
• Leave the place before the end of the permitted parking time.

No parking disc or parked too long? Then a fee of €40 per day applies.

Free parking in Knokke-Heist

At some places in Knokke you can still park for free unlimitedly, at other places in Knokke you have to pay or you can park for free to a limited extent.

Shop & Go (30 minutes)

• No ticket needed, sensors register your parking time.

• Longer than 30 min? €80 fee per day.

Parking with a disability card

• In the blue zone: free and unlimited parking.
• In paying zones: reduced rate.
• Half day = 1-hour rate.
• Full day = 2-hour rate.

Electric charging and parking in Knokke-Heist

In Knokke-Heist, there are parking spaces reserved for electric charging (and parking). In a parking space reserved for charging an electric vehicle

• you may park your vehicle only while charging (plug in).
• you can park for free while charging your vehicle.
• you automatically opt for a parking fee of € 80.00 per day when the plug is not in the socket or you park there with your non-electric vehicle.

Most charging stations in Knokke allow you to park for free during the charging period.
