Free parking in Ostend

You can park for free at the Maria Hendrikapark peripheral car park (on Iependreef). For €0.50 you can take the city centre bus from here to the centre. This bus runs every 30 minutes. Need some fresh air after a long car journey? At the car park you can rent a bicycle for free for 1 day between 7:00 and 19:00 (not on public holidays).

You can also park for free at the Oosteroever car park on the Ankerstraat. You are then about 5 minutes' walk from the coastal tram stop Ostend Dune and Sea.

If you don't park in a pay car park, but on the side of the road, you should pay attention to the different zones and the maximum parking time allowed. Since last year, you have to pay until 20:00 instead of 19:00. These are the different zones:

Orange zone

Here you are allowed to park for a maximum of 2 hours. The rate is €1.40 for the first hour and €2.10 for the second hour. The maximum amount you can pay is €3.50.

Green zone

Here, parking time is a maximum of 4 hours and you pay a lower rate than in the orange zone.

Yellow zone

In these car parks opposite Henri Serruys Hospital, you pay a low rate.
